All false accusations result in life-altering emotional and psychological damage to adults, children, or both, and extreme defamation of character to the falsely accused; and, in the worst of cases, loss of life through murder or suicide, or both. We need to end false allegations, now.

Here are the most common groups of people affected by false allegations, and we encourage all involved to seek support and take action for the betterment of our communities at large.

Adult Survivors

Of the estimated 300-500 false allegations reported each year, about 50% involve forcing or coercing children into making false felony allegations, or to aid in the making of false felony allegations. We believe that this is a form of emotional and psychological child abuse and should be dealt with as such in legislature, re-defining penalties AND mandating therapy for abusers:

Falsely Accused

Falsely accused adults face a number of horrific consequences such as the loss of their ability to express love for the child involved, and loss of other family relationships. They also experience loss of personal relationships within the community, loss of employment, and loss of business–mainly all due to defamation of character–and in some instances, loss of life through suicide.

Regardless of how long ago you were falsely accused, it’s always the perfect time to get support:

False Accusers

False allegations are often driven by strong emotions or states of consciousness like anger, resentment, insecurity, or helplessness, leading to drastic and harmful decisions. Any number of fears, such as fear of loss, control, love, and others, can also compel one to act irrationally. Mandating appropriate therapy for false accusers, and providing effective, preventative mental and behavioral health support for our communities through legislation is essential to protecting our children’s future, and strengthening our families.

We support the legal, therapeutic, and spiritual needs of false accusers:

Legal Reform

Help is here: The False Allegations Prevention Network is working with lawmakers, enforcement agencies, and other concerned agencies and organizations to address false allegations as a mental and behavioral health issue that must be address immediately to prevent future abuse of children and other life-altering events.

By working together, we can do the right thing. Forgiveness and healing are possible for everyone involved. With greater awareness, legal reform, and a shared commitment to personal growth and understanding, we can end false allegations and create a safer community.
